How do you fit your Send Out Cards business into an already packed full to the brim schedule ?
Firstly, it is totally okay if it is a hobby. Plenty of people are quite happy to keep it as such and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.
For those whom are looking to replace their first income or improve their current life situation, it’s going to take a lot more than treating this business as a hobby. You’re going to have to realise you do have a business you’re operating and thus some difficult decisions are going to have to be made by you in order to ‘make’ this work.
If you’re committed and want to build this for the long term (remember, this is not a “get rich quick”!), try to find 7-10 hours per week to devote to this business: follow up, meeting, networking, training, learning.
How do you carve the time out ?
Put together you schedule on a piece of paper. This is a bit of time management 101. State on it when you leave for work, what time you start and so forth. The more detailed you can be with the schedule the easier it will be for you to carve out this 7 – 10 hours per week.
Even if it means having to get up earlier in the morning to follow up emails, send some cards and so forth. Sometimes think about doubling up: make some follow up calls or listen to training or read a book whilst you’re on the train, waiting in the car for your kids when you pick them up from school, etc.
The danger here is that you may end up being busy with SOC however not really producing any results. KISS – Keep It Simple Sexy! … List, Share, Sponsor.
Continually update your lists. Go over old lists & re-connect with people as you never know when exactly they will be “in the right place” to listen to what you have to offer (follow up!!!). Meet new people ! Step outside your comfort zone and strike up a conversation with someone 🙂 You never know where it will lead.
Share. That one is self-explanatory. You don’t necessarily have to this in person as SOC provides a lot of third party tools such as the website, the cards in themselves (send a card with a SOC CD), give someone an ASEND magazine and so forth. Yes, this of course includes GAWs (Gift Account Walkthroughs).
HOT Tip For MDs!!! If someone is hosting a Gratitude Party or Local Business Opportunity Meeting …. offer a ride to your prospect. I can tell you from personal experience that this will make the person feel obligated and not cancel on you. For me, it cuts out my number one reason for not attending something — fuel/car expense worries.
Sponsor. Your ultimate goal/aim is to gather more customers and also sponsor other people to become MDs (Marketing Distributors) … devote your “sponsor” time to answering questions & providing training for both your customers and those whom you do Sponsor. Never sponsor someone and “leave them for dead” hoping they will work it all out on their own.
Now whilst saying all of the above, we must not forget the core of this business is the fact that the system was devised so we all could act on our promptings. If you hear someone has received a raise, moved into a new home or has any sort of occasion where you can create a quick card to send to them (or even if it is to say THANK YOU to someone)… send it. Include a CD if you so desire however ultimately sending the card in and of itself without promotion of the business is ideal.
In the end, there are lots of “little” things you can do. If you can’t make some of the webinars on offer, that’s awesome if it means that you’re busy BUILDING your business ! 🙂 Some of the top leaders are actually too busy to listen to these webinars when they are actually happening “live”…. so don’t feel bad if you don’t make every webinar because you’re too busy building your business.
